What you get
Built for one job: getting you the permit. No bloat.

14 topics, every Q with a memory tip
Licensing rules, right of way, traffic signs, alcohol & drugs, sharing the road. Each question shows a one-line mnemonic after you answer.

State-specific exam mode
Same question count, same passing score, same topic mix as your state’s real exam. Most apps show a generic 25-question template. We don’t.

Honest readiness score
Most prep apps tell you you’re ready after 18 questions. Ours doesn’t. The Readiness Predictor calibrates to your state’s real passing bar - 70% in Texas, 88% in Maryland.
Pick your state
Free practice questions and a state-specific cheat sheet for every jurisdiction.

1,961 written specifically for state-specific rules; 1,999 universal.
Honest readiness score
Calibrated to your state’s actual pass bar - not engagement bait.

Common questions
Things people ask before they install.
Is DMV Ready free?
Yes - free to download and start practicing. We offer optional Premium for unlimited exams and full access to all 4,000 questions. There are no ads in either tier.
Does DMV Ready cover my state?
All 50 states + DC. Each state’s exam format is mirrored exactly - number of questions, passing score, time limit, topic distribution. Pick your state during onboarding.
How is DMV Ready different from other practice test apps?
Three things: (1) State-specific exam format - same length and passing score as your real DMV test, not a generic 25-question template. (2) Honest readiness score - calibrated to your state’s actual passing bar. (3) No ads, no bloat. Built for one job.
How many questions does the app have?
4,000 practice questions: 1,999 universal questions plus 1,961 state-specific questions covering rules unique to each jurisdiction (e.g., California’s wet-reckless laws, Pennsylvania’s two-vehicle work-zone rules).
Is there an Android version?
Coming soon. iOS first. Drop us a note if you want to be told when Android is ready.
